We’re proud to announce the release of Broken Curses, the brand new album by Toronto Garage-punks Pow Wows.

Get Hip is pleased to announce the release of Sonny Vincent & Spite’s crushing new album Spiteful, a Punk Rock’n'Roll masterpiece three years in the making – out soon on ULTRAMAFIC Records.
Sonny Vincent (Testors) joins forces with Spite - his most explosive and prolific backing band to date – featuring legendary punk rockers Rat Scabies (The Damned), Glen Matlock (Sex Pistols), and Steve Mackay (Stooges). The resulting album is nothing short of incendiary: Fourteen blistering tracks of gut-wrenching, no-nonsense rock’n'roll. What more can you ask for?! How about a killer Making Of video featuring clips of the scintillating new tracks? (That’s what we thought.)

GET HIP • GET ART announces a new Sound Series live concert with the legendary King of Power Pop, PAUL COLLINS! This not-to-be-missed, free all-ages show will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Get Hip Recordings’ headquarters in the RJ Casey Industrial Park (Pittsburgh, PA).
August’s Teenage Garage Explosion erupted with killer sets by some of the area’s finest young garage-rockers while September’s event hosted Switzerland’s wildest purveyors of trash rock, The Monsters, in their first-ever Pittsburgh appearance – a super fun, unforgettably over-the-top showdown!
Now we welcome the inimitable Paul Collins, a longtime collaborator who’s been perfecting pop songs since his 1979 debut with The BEAT (considered one of the top ten Power Pop albums of all time!). A genuine troubadour, Paul has relentlessly toured the globe (this year saw him on a two-week tour of China) while continuing to release amazing record after amazing record – including two albums on our very own Get Hip Recordings. He is currently touring the U.S. in support of his brand new album FEEL THE NOISE, released on Alive Records. Paul will be joined onstage by Pittsburgh’s own City Steps.
Get Hip’s Pop-Up Shop will be on-hand to showcase an expansive in-house selection of LP’s, CD’s, 45′s, T-shirts, and more - all available for sale to attendees!
The show will run from 7:30 PM to 11 PM on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014. Get Hip Recordings’ offices are located in the RJ Casey Industrial Park, 1800 Preble Avenue (North Shore, Pittsburgh, PA). RSVP on Facebook!
