ELECTRIC FRANKENSTEIN “SPARE PARTS”

GH-1076
12" LP / CD / Digital
July 21, 1998

There’s no need to introduce New Jersey’s fabulous Electric Frankenstein! Over the past few years, the band has amassed a handful of killer 7-inch singles on some of today’s best labels (Get Hip, Junk, One-foot, Puncrock, Demolition Derby, Exit, Sonic Swirl); three amazing albums on Nitro, Nesak and Get Hip, and a reputation for tight and wild live shows.

Spare Parts combines all of the tracks from a limited edition 10-inch EP released on Switzerland’s V&V Records, plus three live cuts lifted from a session at WFMU. All of the songs are original, except their renditions of Dead Kennedys’ “Your Emotions” and the classic Dictators cut “Borneo Jimmy.” (Personally we think these are some of the best recordings by the band.)

Electric Frankenstein’s lineup includes second singer Scott Wilkins, along with Sal and Dan Canzonieri and John Steele; the three live cuts were recorded at Scott’s last show. Spare Parts features a fabulous cover illustration by renowned artist Derek Hess (R.L. Burnside, Converge, In Flames).
