GET HIP • GET ART Sound Series: Free Show Sept 2, 2014 at Get Hip HQ

GET HIP • GET ART is thrilled to announce the third installment in its popular Sound Series of live concert events. This free, all-ages show will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Get Hip Recordings’ headquarters in the RJ Casey Industrial Park (Pittsburgh, PA).

August’s Teenage Garage Explosion erupted with killer sets by some of the area’s finest young garage-rockers. This month’s event sees the return of Switzerland’s wildest purveyors of trash rock, The Monsters (featuring the infamous Reverend Beat-Man) supported by Pittsburgh’s own power surf trio Vertigo-go (featuring DJ Zombo).

Get Hip’s Pop-Up Shop will be on-hand to showcase an expansive in-house selection of LP’s, CD’s, 45’s, T-shirts, and more – all available for sale to attendees!

The show will run from 7:30 PM to 11 PM on Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014. Get Hip Recordings’ offices are located in the RJ Casey Industrial Park, 1800 Preble Avenue (North Shore, Pittsburgh, PA). RSVP on Facebook!

Donations are encouraged. All proceeds will go directly to the performing bands.

THE MONSTERS
The Monsters formed in 1986 in small-town Bern, capital of Switzerland. Their sound is a fuzzed-out mix between ’60s garage-punk, wild teenage trash rockabilly, and primitive rock‘n‘roll. The band’s unique lineup consists of guitar, bass, and the so-called “clonedrum”: two drummers with only 1 1/2 drums, hitting the same kick drum from either side.Over the years, The Monsters have recorded seven albums, several singles and EP‘s and have appeared on countless compilations. The record Youth Against Nature was recorded in the now famous Toe Rag Studios (London) by Liam Watson. I See Dead People came with a 1000-piece puzzle, booklet, sticker and button and was already sold out during the tour. Garage Punk Vol. 1 is a double LP with 20 years of trash. Pop Up Yours is the newest full-length album. The Monsters currently appear on Switzerland’s Voodoorhythm Records – owned and operated by the band’s singer and guitarist, Reverend Beat-Man.
VERTIGO-GO

Yes, dig in…it’s the latest from members of ZOWIE and the Vibro Champs with DJ Zombo back on that fast-picking bass. Power Surf instrumentals and solid retro/nuevo roaring madness! New CD out soon!
